Dance America's Most Valuable Player Award

Bob Budzynski is a man whose infectious love of dance is always evident and his energy has been a driving force in the Swing Dance World. He and his wife, Beverly have promoted Swing and other dances in their Grand Blanc, Michigan area for many years, and they are in large part responsible for the popularity of Swing in the Michigan area. Bob is a D.J., a competitor, an instructor, and a private promoter. He and Beverly founded the "Michigan Society for Swing and Hustle Dancers Club" (that is still going strong) shortly after founding the prestigious "Michigan Dance Classic."

Three years after the Michigan Dance Classic was in full swing, Bob and Beverly started the "Mid-United States Jack & Jill Championships" (that they've retired from) and the "Petoskey Party" that is still being held in Northern Michigan. Over the years they have also competed across the country in Masters Divisions, Jack & Jill's, etc. As a result of their efforts and competition results, they received two "Feather Awards," presented in 1996 and 1997. Bob has won five first place awards in major Jack & Jill Championships, in addition to the accomplishments listed below - many Bob and Beverly accomplished together.

Congratulations to Robert Royston!
Recipient of the 2008 
Dance America's Most Valuable Player Award

Robert has won numerous dance championships and dance competitions during the past 20 years of dancing. Most notably 4 Masters Championships in Country & Western & 6 US Open Swing Championships. His resume includes creating and producing a Broadway Show, "SWANGO", and most recently a motion picture, "Love 'n Dancing" that will be released in March of 2009.

Robert was also the choreographer for Taylor Swift's video for her current single and was hired to produce this on the recent live broadcast, on National TV, for the CMT's Annual Award Show. The video is one of the most watched and popular videos on TV.

Currenty, Robert emcees for many dance competitions and with his lovely wife Nicola they travel around the world teaching and competing in dance. Year after year they are one of the most popular couples on the swing and country dance circuits.

In spite of the tremendous successes, awards, and accomplishments they have achieved, they still remain humble, sincere, and friends to us all!
